Who hasn’t sat with family and friends around a jigsaw puzzle with family and friends, poring over hundreds of pieces in different shapes and sizes, working together to complete the picture?

This pastime, a favorite during the holiday season, reminds us that goals can only be reached when everyone works together. Each step toward of a goal – like each jigsaw puzzle piece – is important. In projects, as in puzzles, each piece is needed.

The Campaign for Children’s of Mississippi, the drive to raise $100 million to complete our seven-story children’s hospital expansion, has received many gifts of all sizes. Since the Campaign was launched by Sanderson Farms CEO and board chairman Joe Sanderson Jr. and his wife, Kathy, more than $76 million has been raised.

As work continues to make this tower the place of hope and healing we’ve all envisioned, all of the pieces are needed to finish the picture we have in mind: a world-class children’s hospital providing care right here in Mississippi.

Large and small, each piece of the puzzle, each donation and pledge is important, and all are needed. We are grateful to everyone who is helping us reach this goal, and we welcome all who care about the health of Mississippi’s children to join together with us.
